Underwater Fantasy Fused Sterling Silver Brooch or Necklace

I titled this brooch "Underwater Fantasy" because it reminds me of an undersea coral garden. If you look closely you may see a mermaid, abalone shell and a pearl in the piece.
I used a torch to fuse sterling silver sheet and wire together at around 1600 degrees. Creating each piece is an adventure, because although I have a lot of control and experience, silver sometimes melts in unexpected ways, making each piece one of a kind. I added colored resin for a more contemporary look. I used a standard pin back and include a custom made necklace adapter so that this piece can be worn either as a brooch or a necklace. The finished piece is 1.75 x 1.5 inches in size. The chain is just for display purposes and not included.
It is handmade in the USA, signed, dated and copyrighted by Laura Wilson.
