Original Monarch Butterfly Acrylic Painting on Granville New York Slate

This is a beautiful rendition of a monarch butterfly painted on natural Granville, New York slate. I fell in love with slate when I lived in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was in 2010 that I made a trip to Granville and found this gorgeous slate. I collected and smoothed down the rough edges of the slate before I started painting. This piece is 6 x 3.5 inches and weighs less than a pound.
I signed and dated it on the front and on the back. The title is also painted on the back.
This piece is handmade and painted in the USA and copyrighted by Laura Wilson.
