Original Acrylic Friends Painting on New York Slate

This is an original acrylic painting on Granville, New York slate, titled "Friends". I fell in love with slate when I lived in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was in 2010 that I made a trip to Granville and found this gorgeous slate. I collected and smoothed down the rough edges of the slate before I started painting.
I painted a pink morning glory flower some green ivy, an orange salamander, a frog and and a toad. This is one of the first pieces I painted when I was teaching myself to paint.
I sealed everything with a UV resistant clear coating to protect the artwork.
It is 8 x 7.5 inches and weighs about 1 pound.
