Vintage-Inspired Sterling Silver Cameo Pendant for Any Occasion

The pendant is heavy. It weighs 46.6 grams, 1.63 ounces.

 It's 32 mm by 45 mm. The ring at the top is slightly worn but will still last for years.

Made by Maxine Mitchell, a 1955 Olympic fencing champion from Fontana, California, it is unique and one of a kind.

She became interested in making sterling silver jewelry after retirement and then became a sculptor in stone.

She went to Los Angeles High School with my mother and they stayed lifelong friends. I think she pulled a mold off an existing cameo and then cast this piece.

She was a wonderful person. I was lucky to meet her and spend a little time with her.
